What is cocopeat?
To put it simply, coco peat is coconut sawdust.
When the coconut shell is shredded, it is separated into coconut fiber and coco peat. Coco peat, like other wood sawdusts, is a natural material often used in agriculture and various industries.
Because palm trees mainly live along the coast, their salt concentration is higher than other plants.
Therefore, depending on the purpose, coco peat can be washed with water to remove salts or used as is without washing.
Types and functions of coco peat

Unwashed Cocopeat
Because it has a good moisture absorption rate, it is suitable for sewage treatment.
Therefore, it is used as bedding for livestock in barns, pig houses, and poultry houses.
Alternatively, it may be used to absorb food moisture during food processing.

Washed coco peat
Coco peat improves the condition of the soil, but it is high in salt, so in this case washed coco peat is used.
In some cases, only coco peat is used when planting plants, but it is also sold as a mixture of coco peat and fertilizer.
Cocopeat :
- Promotes root and plant growth.
- Helps ventilate the air inside the soil
- Retains moisture and enriches the soil
- Contains natural organic supplements for plant growth
