Vietnamese Coconut

Vietnam ranked 5th among major countries with the highest coconut production.”

The scientific name of coconut is Cocos (face) Nucifera (nut producing).
It is distributed in over 90 regions around the world, of which over 80% are in Southeast Asia. Indonesia has the world’s highest level of coconut cultivation, reaching nearly 4 million hectares. Below is approximately 3.3 million hectares in the Philippines. India has almost 2 million hectares, Sri Lanka 450,000 hectares and Thailand 330,000 hectares.
The coconut cultivation area in Vietnam used to be about 400,000 hectares, but it has now been reduced to 250,000 hectares. Among them, it is most cultivated in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh and Binh Dinh.
